Welcome

When Everett Rotary was founded, the city of Everett was a town full of shingle mills with workers toiling in unsafe conditions.  

In 1916 there was a strike between shingle workers and mill owners.  On November 5, 1916 there was a violent conflict between union members and local authorities, which became known as the Everett Massacre.  

A month later on December 8, 1917, community and business leaders came together at Weiser's Cafe at 1617 Hewitt Avenue to organize a Rotary club.  The Rotary Club of Everett was officially chartered by Rotary International on March 1, 2017.

Henry Prince founded the Everett Club.  He was a member of the Rotary Club of Tacoma, and moved to Everett to open a cigar shop.   

Clayton William, a local attorney, was the very first President of the Everett Rotary Club.  

When Boeing came to town Everett became an aerospace town, no longer a mill town.  Suburbia developed.
