We have been successful in arranging a block of rooms for the Calgary Convention, to be held from June 21-25, 2025 at the Glenmore Inn and Convention Centre at a cost of only $169 CAD per night (both single and double occupancy) plus taxes (estimated total of $180.33 per night). 


The hotel is located about 10 miles from the Stampede grounds, with free Rotary International provided hotel shuttles.  It is rated as a 3 star hotel and has a Google rating of 4.1/5. 

We have been approved for 50 rooms, which will be available on a first-come basis.  An initial deposit of $100 CAD is required, which is refundable in full up to October 15, 2024.  A second deposit (around $315) is required at that time, as District 5050 will be invoiced for a minimum two nights per booked room.  Room cancellations as of November can be done, but the two nights deposit is not refundable, unless we have an overflow list with someone else willing to take the room.

You may want to consider booking rooms from Friday, June 20 to Thursday, June 26, so that you have some additional time before and after the Convention.

Most of the preferred hotels - both for price and distance - sold out within the first day or registration being opened.  If you have already booked an existing room, and prefer to stay at the District hotel block, you can cancel the existing room at no charge.

If you need a hotel, and don't want to book with the group block, you can book a hotel individually from the registration website (the link is below).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Every Rotarian should attend at least one Rotary International Convention and Calgary is both convenient and cost effective, as well as known for being a great host city, thanks to the annual Calgary Stampede and other large events.

In addition to booking a room, you will also need to register for the Convention at this link (https://convention.rotary.org/en-us/registration). That website also provides you with details of the Convention, as well as other events organized by the Home Organizing Committee (HOC).

Convention registration fees are $525 USD per person until December 31.  To encourage younger attendees, there is a discounted fee of only $175 USD for anyone ages 19-30, and $20 USD for anyone age 18 or younger.  The registration is refundable except for a cancellation fee of $50.

Note our information so far is that over 16,000 are already registered, indicating that a large number will attend this Convention – so early registration is recommended.

Beyond Borders Dinner - DETAILS TO FOLLOW The Beyond Borders dinner is a gathering of Rotarians from Zones 28 & 32 (Canada, Washington State, North Eastern USA) and is usually held on Sunday evening (June 22).

District Governor-Elect, Isabelle Martinez Hayer, will be organizing a District Get Together during the Convention, which will likely be either on Saturday (June 21) or Wednesday (June 25).  Details to follow.
