It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our fellow Rotarian and Past District Governor Harv Jubie on 8 May 2022.

Harvey Russell Jubie was born 2 August 1942, in Everett, Washington. After graduating from Lake Stevens High School in 1960, Harv started an electrical apprenticeship and received his journeyman card in 1964 at the age of 22. He served in the Washington State National Guard between 1964 and 1970. In 1967, he started his own company called Jubie Electric and built houses on the side. In the 1980’s, Harv quit the electrical business and concentrated on construction, building both residential and commercial rental properties.

Harv joined the Marysville Noon Rotary in 1991, serving as President for the 1998 – 1999 Rotary year and was District Governor in 2005-2006. He was active in the community and served on the boards of the Providence General Foundation, Marysville Chamber of Commerce, and the Marysville YMCA.

If ever a man embodied the spirit of Rotary, it was Harv. Twenty years in a row, along with other local Rotarians, he traveled to remote villages in the mountains of Guatemala to build schools through Hands for Peacemaking, forever impacting the lives of thousands of children.

Harv was a caring man who loved people and looked for opportunities to serve others.

Our sincere condolences go out to his family and particularly to his wife of fifty-five years, Jan.
