John was born in San Louis Obispo, CA in June of 1948. At the age of six, his family moved to Washington where he has resided for the last 60 years. John received an Associate of Arts Degree in business from Everett Community College.
In 1968 John enlisted in the US Navy and spent fours years in the service. He is a Viet Nam Veteran, and served on the aircraft carrier Oriskany as an aviation ordinance tech visiting many countries in South East Asia, including being stationed in the Philippines and Da Nang, Viet Nam.
John is the Owner of JABCO Janitorial Services, which has been in business since 1974. The business provides cleaning services to many office, medical and school facilities throughout Western Washington.
John and his wife, Maxine, have been married for over 30 years and are very proud of their two sons, Craig and Chad. John has been very active in sports activities in the Everett and Mukilteo area and coached for children’s baseball, basketball, soccer and wrestling teams. One of the great joys for John and Maxine has been following their son’s education, sports, and becoming great citizens.
In 1996, John was invited to join the Rotary club of South Everett-Mukilteo and quickly became an enthusiastic Rotarian. He served as the President of the South Everett Mukilteo Rotary Club in 2001-02 and was appointed Area H Assistant Governor in 2003. He also the served on the following chair positions in his club: Community Services, Community Development, Fund Allocation and Scholarship, and was twice awarded Rotarian of the Year by his Club. John and Maxine are multiple Paul Harris Fellows and John is a Benefactor.
In addition to being involved in Rotary, John is also member of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce, Cleaning Management Institute and Building Service Contractors Association International. He is on the Advisory Board for the Assistance League of Snohomish County and on the Site Council of ACES High School.
In his spare time John enjoys golf, boating, gardening, and home projects!
