Rotary District 5050 Annual Foundation Dinner was held on 18 November at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club to celebrate the good works locally and worldwide funded by Rotarians who contribute to The Rotary Foundation.
 
Speakers were Peace Scholarship Alumni April Klassen, who Rotary sponsored to get her Masters at a Peace Center Program at an English University, and Dr. Lee Harman who raised USD $40,000 for PolioPlus driving 1932 Model A Miss Vicky 7,600 miles in an Anchorage to Cabo San Lucas Road Rally.
 
The San Juan Islands ($838.47 per capita), White Rock ($510.80 per capita) and Everett ($472.41 per capita) Clubs were recognized as the Top Three Per Capita in Annual Fund Giving to The Rotary Foundation.
 
The five 100% Foundation Giving Clubs honored achieved an average of $100 in per capita giving and 100% participation, with every dues-paying member contributing at least $25 to Annual Giving, Polio Plus Fund, approved Global Grants or the Endowment Fund. They were:

  • Bellingham Sunrise
  • Mission
  • Mount Baker
 
 
Four Clubs: Abbotsford-Sumas, Bellingham Sunrise, Mission and Mount Baker achieved a minimum Annual Fund contribution, Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) contribution of $100 per capita during the Rotary year, and every dues-paying member personally contributes at least $25 during the year.
 
25 Clubs received Certificates of Appreciation for their financial support of at least $1,500 for the End Polio Now Countdown to History Campaign. These included:
